Printed Material:
This usage would include newsletters, e-newsletters, flyers, brochures, magazines. Any item that is printed excluding books.
Rates are based on the number of copies that are printed or emailed. This includes both internal and external printed material. This rate does NOT include textbooks and books published by a publisher. For these rates, see BOOKS AND TEXTBOOKS
Emails and e-newsletters:
The rates are based on the quantity that is emailed and in the case of e-newsletters, we provide 30 days of archiving of the cartoons the rate. If you wish to archive the cartoon as part of a newsletter online beyond 30 days, there is an additional posting fee of $5 per cartoon for one year if the cartoon is archived as part of an online newsletter.
We do not provide free usage. Thank you for understanding that the cartoons are our company's product and if we gave away free usage, we would not have a product to sell. |

Presentations:
This would include the use of the cartoon in a presentation for both internal and external use, including seminars, staff training, meetings.
* The basic rate is for a one-time use in a single presentation or one year multiple use.
* Rates are also determined by the number of people attending your presentation.
* You can also purchase the rights to use the cartoon an unlimited amount of time for one year.
* You may also make one hard copy of the cartoon per attendee at the presentation. This usage would include training seminars and in-house presentations to staff.
We do not provide free usage. Thank you for understanding that the cartoons are our company's product and if we gave away free usage, we would not have a product to sell.

We offer discounts to educational and non-profit organizations, but we do not accommodate requests for free material. If these discounts apply to your project, please let us know. Additionally, we only grant one-edition reprint rights.

Advertising:
Off the mark cartoons may be used in advertising campaigns. The usage rate is based on the print run of the publication where you will be advertising along with how many times the advertisement will run in the publication. When requesting a quote, please include the following Information:
1) Number of times the ad with the same cartoon will run in a publication.
2) The print run of the publication.
3) If the same ad/cartoon will run in multiple publications, include the info requested above for each publication.
4) If your company has a for-profit or non-profit govermental tax status. |

Custom Illustrations and Cartoons and Modifying Cartoons:
The artist does create custom cartoon and illustrations and will also modify existing cartoons (ie: change text, change gender, etc) for a fee. When requesting a quote for custom work, please provide as much information about what you wish to have created, how the cartoons will be used, and your deadline. The cartoonist does not work on spec.
The raes will depend on the type of usage rights you would like for use of the design. Prices range from $250 - $2000.
The fee depends on a few factors such as if you want a humorous illustration to accompany copy that you are providing or if you want the cartoonist to create the gag and drawing. The rates also depend on the type of publication rights you want.
If you want to use the design for your own personal use and don't plan on using the design on any marketing then the fee is closer to $250. If you want to use it for your company for all marketing purposes then the range is closer to $2000. Illustrations cost less than cartoons (drawings and gag). Usually, if you only want to use a cartoon for one project, then the rate is around $300 - $600 depending on the complexity of the project, the usage, and if you want color or black and white. Please send a detailed description of your project.
Licensing Images for use on products:
The artist does license our cartoons for use on product such as greeting cards, t-shirts, mugs and more. We generally work with an artwork advance per design and a royalty commission based on product sold. Please contact the business manager to discuss your project and terms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Reprint usage rates: Usage rates are based on how the cartoons will be used and the quantity that will be printed or presented to. We also offer discounts if you purchase 3 or cartoons and provide reduced rates for non-profits, personal use, charities, religions, teachers and students.
Frequency Rates: . We offer reduced rates when you purchase 3 or more cartoons.These rates are based on the number of cartoons you order at one time.
Black and White and Color Rates: All cartoons are available in black and white. All rates in the charts above are the black and white rates. Color rates are based on whether or not the cartoon has already been colored. If the cartoon is on the website in color, then the majority of time, we have a high resolution color image. Just add $10 for color use. If however, you want the cartoon in color but it is not already in color, then there is an extra $75 fee to color the cartoon. It takes about 1 week to have a cartoon colored but rushes are available.
File Formats: For printed projects, we offer black and white images in Jpeg at 600 dpi. For web based projects (emails, blogs, sites) we offer low resolution jpegs. All files are sent via email or webpage downloads. Hardcopy can obtained for an additional shipping and handling fee. Many cartoons are already in color and the high resolution image quality is between 300 - 600 dpi. All cartoons can be colored for an additional fee of $75 a cartoon. All color cartoons on the website are also available in black and white.
Terms of use: Each reprint usage fee is for one time use except when purchasing a one-year license for presentations, one year web posting rights, or for teachers (Public Schools) and students who also have a one year use. Any additional use of an image requires an additional reprint usage fee.
Return Policy: Please note that all sales are final. If however, you find a problem with the content of the cartoon and wish to replace the cartoon, we will exchange a cartoon within 30 days of the invoice date. For images that are delivered via a web download page, you have 7 days to download the images. After 7 days, if you need to have the images reloaded, there is a $25 reloading fee.
Payment: All rates are quoted in US dollars. Payment is due upon receipt of the order. We accept MasterCard,Visa and American Express. You will be sent a link to a secure web from authorize.net . Credit card payments show up on your statement as offthemarkcartoons.com. Student, Teacher and orders outside the United States and Canada require prepayment.
If you wish to pay by check, you will need an approved credit account with our company. We accept checks in US dollars drawn on US banks. Canadian Checks in US funds on Canadian Banks for a $5 fee , Wire Transfer for an additional fee of $50.

Profit vs Non-Profit Rate:
This rate is determined solely based on how your government has determined your company's for profit status. Usually defined as having a tax exempt number.
Even if you are not paid nor charging a fee you would be considered for-profit if you are giving the presentation or producing a flyer on behalf of a for-profit organization. For example: if you are an accountant giving a presentation at a chamber of commerce meeting, you would be considered for-profit. Non-profit includes: Charities, religions, public schools, and for private personal use such as family newsletters or personal party invitations. |
